Dave Collier will tell the the story of the Canterbury Bookshop … our best-sellers… the most important books you should read about Thailand… and more….

Chaucer's The Canterbury Tales was chosen by Dave Collier as the name for his Pattaya Business. Dave will tell us how he came to open a café that also became a book shop and exchange.

He came to Thailand for a break and did some voluntary teaching in a local Government school which he thought was great fun; but better yet, it led to meeting another teacher whom he married. Now 15 years later they own and operate Canterbury Tales Café, Guesthouse, and Book Store/Book Exchange.

The book store/exchange came about as a result of a few books lying around from the previous owner, which gave them the idea. With a little research, they decided to offer books to their customers as well as food and lodging.  They obtained more books by purchasing some and Dave’s wife visiting many hotels to buy any used books they may have gathered up.  Now they are a well known source for Expats and others to obtain some great books to read.
