Overall Immigration requirements are contained in the Immigration Act of 2522. Rules for the issuance of Visas to enter Thailand by Thai Embassies and Consulates are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Rules for actually entering and remaining in Thailand are issued by the Immigration Bureau of the Royal Thai Police.

ENTRY IN TO THAILAND Entry to Thailand will generally be based on one of the following: Visa Exempt, Visa on Arrival, or Visa. Currently holders of passports from 93 countries can enter Thailand without a Visa. Visa on Arrival is available to a limited number of countries (will not apply to most native English speakers or from European countries). Visas are are obtained from Thai Embassies/Consulates and are available for different categories, each having specific requirements. | Visas will be in different categories. EXTENDING YOUR PERMITTED STAY IN THAILAND The initial period of stay provided by Thai Immigration upon entry can be extended depending on the type of entry.
