If you have entered Thailand using a Non-Immigrant Category O-A Visa, you must show proof of health insurance cover when extending your stay. The requirements are listed below. Note: It does not apply to those extending their stay for retirement if their underlying Visa is Non-Immigrant category "O". |
REQUIREMENTS:
(*) Effective 15 July 2024, health insurance coverage of only 440,000 THB will be required (400,000 for inpatient, and 40,000 for outpatient coverage). The information to date appears to be for applicants for this Visa – the announcement does not mention if there will be a similar change in requirements for renewal of the one year permission to stay granted by the type of Visa. (**) At present, what type of document and how it is notarized that will be accepted by the MoFA for certification is unknown.
