Homerly Senior Living Center gave a presentation to the Club on Sunday, January 12, meeting. Because of the interest shown, they have extended an invitation to visit their facility on Sunday, February 23 after the conclusion of the PCEC meeting. They provide transportation by mini-vans from the meeting location, Executive Tower, Holiday Inn, at 12:30pm to their facility and return. Click here for more information about the visit.  Although the Invitation mentions contacting Member Ren Lexander, he had to bow out because of his busy schedule. The Contact Person (PCEC designated Coordinator) is member Richard Smith.
They plan for the visit to include meeting the doctors, physiotherapists, and other specialists on arrival, followed by a tour of the Homerly residences, and return to the main building for free some free tests for those that want them - Body Mass Index (BMI) testing, balance evaluation, and other tests. They will also provide a tea toward the end of the visit, after the testing, which will allow time for discussion and questions.
Homerly has limited the number of people for this visit to 25 people (a second trip may be possible in the future). When there is a limitation to the number of people invited on a trip offered by a third party, the PCEC’s adopted Activities Policy provides that Current PCEC Members will have first preference for the trip. As a result, there will be two sign-up lists.
Members that wish to go on the trip should sign-up on the MEMBERS LIST with their name, phone number, and email address. Members will be added to the trip list based on the order in which they sign-up. Non-members wishing to go on the trip should sign up on the NON-MEMBERS LIST with the same information. Members will have priority, if there is still space available, non-members will be added to the trip list in the order their name appears on the signup sheet.
