John Walsh will be speaking on Running a business in Thailand and COVID: Before, During and (hopefully) After.

Presentation: https://youtu.be/P1IpOunaPHE
Interview: https://youtu.be/uyASr93nw78

John’s comments will be a follow on to his presentation to the club in March 2016 about “How to operate and market a successful legitimate massage parlour in Pattaya.” During his presentation he emphasized that he opened his business, Nemo’s Massage, as a legitimate massage parlour and described how he overcame cultural differences and other obstacles to create a flourishing business (The Before).

Of course, “The During” relates to the Thai Government order that all massage parlours as well as many other businesses to close during the COVID emergency. The is evidenced on Nemo’s Facebook page with a posting on March 19, 2020 stating “Nemo’s will be closed from March 18th thru March 31st to comply and help combat the covid pandemic. We will reopen April 1st unless notified otherwise. God bless and hope everyone stays safe.” However, April was not to be. The next posting 4 months later states: -“Now that Nemo’s has been up and running since June 1st we would like to inform you of 2 great promotions we are currently running.”

The After will be John’s take on what the future will be for his and most likely other businesses in Pattaya. Thus his “hopefully” refers to an optimistic expectation.

This promises to be a very interesting presentation.  For John’s previous presentation, click here to read a summary in the Pattaya Mail and click here for the video.
