PCEC Meeting - Pattaya Through the Eyes of the Media 1992-2022

Barry Kenyon will be our speaker on the topic: is Pattaya through the eyes of the media 1992-2022. He will provide us with a look at how the local and international media have responded to the many changes in Pattaya over 30 years (newspapers, TV, internet, social media, investigative journalism, etc.). He will also mention his arrest for gambling in the notorious Pattaya Bridge Club raid of 2016.

Barry is 80 years old and has lived mostly in Pattaya for the past 30 years with a few spells in Cambodia. He has worked in various capacities for the British embassy, the immigration police and the newspaper industry. He is now largely retired but is a foreign-cases consultant to a Pattaya lawyer and provides articles for the Pattaya Mail.

Barry's Embassy duties included being the Honorary British Consul for Pattaya. Many Pattaya Expats will remember him for being a volunteer helping foreigners at Chonburi (Pattaya) Immigration - during which time he was a regular attendee at PCEC meetings offering assistance on Thai Immigration matters.
